You will learn how to install the Soiree Workbench so that you may begin creating Solutions.
The Soiree Workbench consists of four parts
- Operating System
The supported operating systems for the Soiree Workbench are Windows and OS X.
- Java Virtual Machine
Java is the language used to create Soiree Solutions. The minimum requirement for Soiree is Java 8.
The Eclipse integrated development environment provides the editing and execution environment for developing Soiree Solutions. The supported Eclipse version is Mars.
- Soiree Framework Plugin
The Soiree Framework is provided as an Eclipse plugin.
Install the Soiree Workbench
- Install Java
If you do not already have Java 8 installed on your machine you can obtain it here.
- Install Eclipse
If you do not already have Eclipse installed you can obtain it here. We recommend you install either Eclipse IDE for Java Developers or Eclipse IDE for Java EE Developers. To install Eclipse you download the product and unzip the file into a folder. You then start Eclipse by running Eclipse.app (OS X) or Eclipse.exe (Windows).
- Install the Soiree Framework Plugin
- Start Eclipse
- Select Help, Install New Software…
- Select the Add… button
- Create a new site named Soiree Framework with a location of http://get.soiree.io/plugin/current
- Check the box next to Soiree Framework and select Next
- Select Next
- Accept the license agreement and press Finish
- Select OK for the security warning
- Select Yes to restart Eclipse
Enter your Soiree License
When the Soiree plugin starts it checks to see if it has a valid license.
- Select Activate Now
- Select Activate License
- Enter your activation key and press Ok
If you do not have an activation key you may obtain one here New Soiree Account
- Select Close
You may return to the Soiree license preferences at any time by using Help … Activate Soiree License
You are now ready to begin creating Soiree Solutions. Welcome to the party!
